Curtain Headers & Trims

Curtain Headers and trims

Their are many different styles of curtain headings. Below is a selection of the most popular choices.

We can also add Bobble or Beaded trims to the leading edges of curtains or the base of Roman Blinds.

Pencil Pleat Headers

Pencil Pleat is the traditional standard heading for curtains and Valances from 3" tape to a 6" King Pleat tape. A 3" tape is used with three hook positions to suit all types of track and pole. Curtains are supplied pulled for you with the cords wrapped and tucked away, ready for you to make adjustments.

In order for pencil pleat curtains to stack back from the window, 2 to 2.5 fabric fullness is required.

Tab Topped Headers

Tab Top is a contemporary heading suitable for all fabrics. Tab Topped curtains are suitable for all curtain poles with a diameter of up to 45mm. Tabs are always made in the same fabric as the curtains.

In order for the curtains to stack back from the window we recommend only 1.5 fabric fullness for tab top headings.

Eyelet Headers

A decorative alternative for curtain poles. Eyelet curtains are very easy to hang. When measuring for eyelet  curtains, measure from the top of the pole to where you want the curtains to finish. An extra 3cm will be added from the top of the eyelet to the top of the curtain.

Take a look at Making Up Service for more details about the eyelets.

Casing/Slotted Headers/Standard Gather

Standard gather heading is a traditional yet informal style which ideally suits a shorter curtain drop, a 1" tape with cords is used. The amount of gather required is the same as pencil pleat heading (see above). This heading can be used with tracks or poles. slotted headers for rods and wires.

French/Triple/Pinch Pleat Header

Pinch Pleat is a decorative heading for curtains, suitable for all fabrics. Pinch pleats use more fabric and are fuller than pencil pleats. The pleats are hand-sewn in and permanently fixed for a more luxurious, tailored look.

As pinch pleat is a fixed, sewn-in heading, it is important that you quote an accurate track/pole width when ordering pinch pleats. This will allow us to gather your curtains to the correct width.

Please note that the size and spacing of the pleats will vary slightly from the picture depending on your track/pole width as all pinch pleat curtains are pleated by hand specifically to fit your requirements.

Pinch pleat headed curtains are supplied with pin hooks and detailed instructions.

Bobble/Pom Pom Trim Decoration

A very pretty final touch to any Curtains or Blinds.
